Grief
Today one of my class discussions was on grief and the grieving process. Sometimes I feel like I have been through that a little too much. Most people think of grief having to do with death, but we all grieve when something that is really important to us doesn't happen. I remember years ago a lady in a quilting group I attended brought a poem to read. She had a daughter that was developmentally challenged. The poem talked about planning this trip to France your whole life and now you get to go but when you get off the plane, you are not in France but in the Netherlands, and you are not going to get to go to France. The poem goes on to talk about the choice you have to enjoy the beauties of the Netherlands or morn and be bitter over the loss of not seeing France. I have thought of that poem often and find myself saying " enjoy the Netherlands". One of my other class discussions was on disabilities and we watched a film with many people that have a variety of challenges talking about their daily life. One of them said when he was injured one of the only things he could choose was how he was going to live with what he had left. I think that is what agency is all about "Choosing how we are going to live and if we are going to enjoy the Netherlands."

No I am not dead
I almost had to create a new blog. I haven't blogged for so long and had to think about how to get on here again. I don't even really know what to post, my life has been filled with my statistics home work and tests that are not the funnest for me so I know no one else wants to hear about it either. The rest of my time is spent at work, basketball games with Ty, taking Lindi to gym and school with nursing classes, that although I am really enjoying I know not everyone else will think it is as great as I do. I have decided to write about some of the things I am learning that I do think apply to everyone. But today I am just grateful for the chance that I have to be alive and also to be able to go to school.
There is a nurse at work who was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year before I was. She helped me so much when I was going through all of it. Well a year ago they found that hers had metastasized and was now in her brain, she underwent successful treatment for that only to now be dealing with it in her liver. She is not much older than I am. This is one of those things that I think about and wonder why her and not me? Why do I get to have a fairly "normal" life now. I feel a great responsibility to not take this for granted and to make a difference. I don't know what kind of a difference or where but I feel the responsibility.
I am loving school. It is busy and the time commitment is a little frustrating at times, but I know it will be worth it. When I went to school over twenty five years ago now, it seemed so hard. It was at the time the hardest thing I had done. The hardest thing about going to school now has been learning to work the computer. The actual school work does not seem that hard just very time consuming. Many of the people in my classes are much younger than I am and they talk about how hard all the school work is. I have been thinking about this concept the last few weeks and have decided it is all relative. I have done much harder things than school in my life now. I did have to laugh, these younger nurses in my class invited me to lunch with them the other day, they could not believe how old I am and one of them made a comment, "You can't be that old you don't have any gray hair" I was not aware that your hair color is what makes you old. I guess that is relative also.

Pandora hair cut and more
I haven't posted anything in a while and from what it looks like my mom has failed to do so as well. I think she is too busy playing with pandora. This month my mom TRIED to give Pandora A hair cut and save money.
To do this expirement you will need
1. a car to go to the store and get the kit. But wait might i add that it comes with a DVD
2. A dog that needs a hair cut
3. The little kit that has everthing in it
4. A towel
5. A brush
6. Delious treats
7. Ow and love for your dog no matter what he/ she looks like
That should do it.
To start with master gardener discovered You tube and watched videos on how to groom a dog. They just said, " try not to cut your dog and cut the hair the right length." I could have told her that one. Then my little excited gardener went to Wal Mart and got the dog grooming kit..... with the DVD. She watched every part with pandora watching too so she can behave like the dog. She then announced that Pandora's hair cut will be the next day and she will look cute no matter what. The next day my mom is up early to give the little baby a new stylish look. I woke up hearing something screeching? ha it was pandora of course. She was being brushed. Don't feel bad for her. She was bitting and scraching. Once she was all soft and fluffy it was time for a bath. Pandora is very smart and she knows when she looks ugly and that is usually when she is wet. ( i will have to take a picture) Then we have to blow dry her before she gets cold. She hates being blow dried but she has decided it is better than being brushed. After that we have to brush her again. She cries even when we don't touch her(drama queen). Woooo it is time to cut her hair. Don't worry we watched the movie we are professionals. During the whole hair cut she does not stop moving. She was not like the dog in the video my mom said. ( lol i knew that she wasn't going to be all along.) So now pandora looks like a little black lion. Poor puppy. Then she got gum in her hair so we had to cut that out too. ha ha she looks demented. She is definitely making a fashion statement for the dogs. Hey look on the bright side she still has her cute personallity.. i guess. So now we have decided we are going to let a REAL professional do the work. Cute and innocent..... right.
